In a 4-hour long session in the Senate, Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth addressed concerns of his personal history, including drinking and sexual assault claims. He even spoke about what incoming POTUS Donald Trump demands from him as the Pentagon chief, including restoring warrior culture to the Pentagon. Hegseth also assured Senators that Trump and his team intend to end wars then prioritise their resources to reorient to larger threats that they can no longer count on. The defense secretary nominee also asserted his support for Israel and its “existential war” with Hamas.
