Sweden has announced a £7.7 million plan to modernize its civil defense bunkers amid escalating tensions with Russia. The Scandinavian nation, which has 64,000 bunkers capable of protecting 7 million people, is upgrading these shelters to defend against nuclear blasts, radioactive fallout, and chemical or biological weapons.
