Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that Ukraine urgently needs diesel supplies after tensions with Hungary and Slovakia disrupted regional energy flows. “I will tell you, we simply need diesel. I appealed to the president; we very much want us to find understanding and such assistance for Ukraine,” he said during a press conference in Bucharest after talks with Romanian President Nicusor Dan. Zelensky also noted that Ukraine and Romania were discussing broader energy cooperation, including the possible transport of US liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine through Romania.
