Bengaluru, February 28
Opener Kiran Navgire smashed a half-century as UP Warriorz beat defending champions Mumbai Indians by seven wickets in the WPL here today.
Navgire shared a 94-run partnership off nine overs for the opening wicket with captain Alyssa Healy to lay the foundation for UP’s chase of the 162-run target.
Australia captain Healy played second fiddle, scoring 33 off 29 balls, as Navgire smashed four sixes and six fours in her 31-ball 57.

UP had a wobble after losing three quick wickets, going from 94/0 to 98/3, but Grace Harris (38 not out off 17) and Deepti Sharma (27 not out off 20) ensured UP got their first win of the season.
Australian Harris came out swinging and hit one six and six fours as UP reached the target with 21 balls to spare.
Earlier, Hayley Matthews made a scrappy half-century as Mumbai scored 161/6. Mumbai did not have the services of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and lead pacer Shabnim Ismail as both were nursing niggles.
Nat Sciver-Brunt led Mumbai but the absence of Harmanpreet was visible in their batting in the middle overs as Matthews (55 off 47) often struggled for timing. Yastika Bhatia scored 26 off 22. — PTI
