A fresh missile confrontation is brewing in Europe. Russia has issued a sharp warning to the United States and Germany over potential deployment of long-range American missiles on German soil. Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko cautioned that any such move would trigger “equal or more effective” countermeasures from Moscow. The warning follows a 2024 U.S.-Germany statement outlining phased deployment of SM-6, Tomahawk and hypersonic systems from 2026.
