We are searching for an experienced AR/Unity developer to build an AR solution in Unity based on a high-quality video feed originating from a drone. We would like to present AR objects or avatars on the ground, similar to the multitude of mobile device based AR games, but do it on a slightly larger scale, and use a drone camera instead of the camera on the mobile device. We assume the ground or terrain in the object rendering and video feed to be an open 2D plane. The only input is the video feed.
You may use well-established AR SDKs such as Vuforia or similar.
Unity-based solutions as deliverables:
1. Establish the drone position and bearing with human-added markers in terrain from the video feed.
2. Project the video feed to 2D plane to map out the area ("virtual twin")
3. Use the projected map to establish drone position without the markers
4. Estimate the altitude of the drone based on markers
5. Add 3D AR objects to the virtual twin and render them by clicking on the video screen.
6. Document these solutions.
We can be reached during Finnish work office hours (UTC +2) in Discord (from 9pm to 17pm). Calls can also be separately arranged during evenings.
