As a company committed to setting others up for success, including both customers and employees, we want to be very clear about the expectations for this role. This is not a mentoring opportunity. You will be required to have prior expertise and experience creating complex Unity worlds and environments using version control with multiple Unity projects in the same repository. Recommendations for ways to structure Unity assets to optimize both development and performance is needed. Knowing when to use assets available in the asset store and when to create custom assets (textures, 3D models, etc…) as needed is essential! Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills is also important. We collaborate using Microsoft Teams. Preference will be given to those with experience using Teams, Azure DevOps, and Agile development methodologies.
We are optimizing for size in everything we do. The ability to deploy remote updates in a very specific manner is extremely important because the content generated will be deployed in countries with less-than-ideal infrastructure and potentially very poor-quality internet connections. This means large bulky assets from the Unity asset store may not be an option. For example, we will not be using playmaker.
This position requires constant awareness and knowledge of real-world proportions and measurements. You will be working on a real-world driving simulation system, not a game. We are striving for realism, not entertainment. Our driving simulators are used for research, rehabilitation of the injured or mentally impaired, and other real world practical applications that help people. Altruism and a desire to serve your fellow humans is just as important as skills. We have complex requirements for driving involving many varying laws and "rules of the road," globally.
We are pursuing R&D with several capabilities unprecedented in driving simulation that incorporate both generative, and other forms of AI into multiple applications. The successful candidate will learn more about that upon contract acceptance.

Initially, this position will be more than 30 hours per week. We anticipate it becoming less than 30 hours per week in approximately 3 to 4 months but may continue at 30 hours per week or more depending on business and market conditions.
Hourly Range: $17.00-$42.00
