India strongly criticised Pakistan during a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York, as India’s Permanent Representative Harish Parvathaneni condemned the ongoing violence in Afghanistan. Citing UNAMA’s concerns, India denounced the killing of innocent civilians and slammed Pakistan for “trade and transit terrorism” caused by the closure of crucial access routes for landlocked Afghanistan. India called these acts violations of WTO norms, international law, and the UN Charter. With Pakistan and Afghanistan locked in escalating border tensions, New Delhi reaffirmed its support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence.
