Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a “hero” after European leaders approved a 90 billion euro loan for Ukraine, to be repaid once reparations are received from Russia. Speaking alongside Zelensky, Tusk said frozen Russian assets would be mobilised and argued the aggressor must pay for all losses and destruction. Zelensky welcomed the decision, saying Russia had tried to delay or block it, and thanked Europe for showing firm leadership. He also expressed gratitude to Poland and its people for unwavering support since the start of the war, calling the decision a strong signal of unity.
