Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Donald Trump’s former Middle East Envoy Jared Kushner joined a White House meeting on August 27 to discuss post-war plans for Gaza, according to Reuters. The meeting reportedly focused on the hostage crisis, aid deliveries, and reconstruction as being described as a “simple policy meeting” by U.S. officials. However, Blair and Kushner’s presence at the meeting has sparked speculations. Trump has previously floated controversial ideas for Gaza, including U.S. control of the enclave and transforming it into the “Riviera of the Middle East” after relocating Palestinians. Kushner, a key Middle East adviser during Trump’s first term, suggested a similar plan last year. Meanwhile, the Financial Times reported in July that the Tony Blair Institute was participating in a project aimed at the “reconstruction of Gaza.”
