Opportunity:

As a Junior MySQL Developer at Apptega, you will work closely with our experienced database and development teams to assist in designing, developing, and maintaining MySQL databases. You will play a crucial role in database optimization, performance tuning, and ensuring data integrity. This role provides the chance to learn and grow while contributing to innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Development: Collaborate on designing and developing MySQL databases, tables, and stored procedures
Query Optimization: Analyze and enhance SQL queries to boost database performance
Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data through data validation and error-handling techniques
Reporting: Create ad-hoc and scheduled reports using MySQL queries
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas, designs, and code modifications
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues, including errors and performance bottlenecks
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders
Security: Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive data

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Basic understanding of MySQL and relational database concepts
Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices
Familiarity with other database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) is a plus
Knowledge of database design principles, indexing, and normalization is a plus
