We are an agency in the process of migrating our clients platform from NextJs and WordPress to Webflow. The WordPress blog articles are currently pointing to the site using a reverse proxy, and we have 394 blog post URL structures that need careful handling. We require a highly skilled reverse proxy developer to set up and configure a reverse proxy to ensure seamless routing and maintain URL integrity during this migration to Webflow. The blog will be hosted on Webflow instead of WordPress and the same with the rest of the site.

Responsibilities:

– Analyze the current reverse proxy setup and understand the routing rules affecting 394 blog post URLs.
– Determine the best approach to either modify the existing proxy or set up a new one to integrate with Webflow.
– Install and configure reverse proxy software (preferably Nginx, but open to suggestions based on best practices).
– Implement routing rules to ensure all current URLs are correctly redirected or maintained without disrupting SEO value.
– Manage complex routing scenarios and maintain seamless user experience.
– Conduct thorough testing to ensure all routes are functioning as expected.
– Provide comprehensive documentation and support for the configuration.

Qualifications:

– Proven experience in setting up and configuring reverse proxies (Nginx, Apache, HAProxy, etc.).
– Strong understanding of DNS management and web server configuration.
– Expertise in URL redirection and SEO considerations, specifically handling large numbers of redirects.
– Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routing issues effectively.
– Experience with platform migrations, especially involving Webflow, NextJs, and WordPress.
– Excellent communication skills to collaborate with our team.
Preferred Skills:

– Familiarity with Webflow CMS and its limitations.
– Experience with managing complex routing logic and server-side redirects.
– Knowledge of security best practices for reverse proxies.
