JOB DESCRIPTION
At MPM Consulting, we seek for a highly skilled SQL Server Developer to join our client’s software development team in a fast-paced and high-demand environment. This role is crucial for designing, developing, testing, and optimizing SQL Server databases to meet the intense demands of our projects.
The successful candidate will provide vital support for new and existing projects, ensuring optimal integration and performance of database systems under tight deadlines. We seek a seasoned SQL Developer who has chosen to focus on coding after experiencing other roles.

REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in SQL development, preferably with SQL Server 2017 or newer.
• Demonstrated expertise in T-SQL with a strong track record of developing efficient database solutions for high-demand environments, including complex SQL joins.
• Deep understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Advanced database performance tuning and optimization skills, particularly in high-load scenarios.
• Proficient in using Jira for effective project tracking and management in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

DESIRABLE SKILLS
• Experience with SQL performance tuning tools, such as SQL Sentry Plan Explorer.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure DevOps, and Azure Data Factory.
• Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), version 2017 or later.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and optimize SQL databases for maximum performance and efficiency under rigorous conditions.
• Write, test, and implement T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views to meet high-performance standards.
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to ensure seamless database integration with business applications.
• Conduct thorough database troubleshooting and performance tuning to ensure system reliability and responsiveness in a high demand setting.
• Offer production support and craft custom database solutions to fulfill complex project requirements promptly.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
• Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
• Strong commitment to adhere to strict coding standards and best practices while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, essential for working under pressure.
• Extensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in a high-demand context, from concept to implementation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Will excel at analyzing code, identifying potential problems, and implementing solutions with minimal documentation and specifications. This position will require maintaining and upgrading a small subset of products that are both complex and highly critical for our clients and for which limited documentation exists. The challenge for the candidate lies in understanding the business requirements and the existing code base and then design and implement code that will optimally address the requirements.

• Will be able to work autonomously and learn fast. You will often need to rely on your understanding of the business, common sense, and communication with project managers to determine requirements and with senior developers to understand who the existing code base.

If you just want a 6 to 12 month project this is not for you. We value personal life and family which is why we offer flexibility in work hours, as long as you are available for key meetings. We are not a 9 to 5 company. Nor a 200 hour a month company. We work when we need to, we support each other and show availability.

Hourly Range: $20.00-$30.00
