Athena Alliance is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer/Team Lead for their small but growing engineering team.

You’d be great for this role if:
– You have prior experience or interest in team leadership and management, and would like to spend time writing code as well as leading the two other engineers on your team.
– You are a proactive problem solver who takes initiative to find effective solutions and minimize tech debt
– You like to dig into complex problems and make technical recommendations/solutions to improve product
– You have strong communication skills to ensure the team is working in sync (modes of communication on the tech team include weekly standup via Zoom and asynchronous via Slack)

Responsibilities:
– Lead the delivery of product solutions and features, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
– Design, build, test, deploy and maintain our internal and external products using NextJS, React, and GraphQL.
– Mentor and pair with the other software engineers in order to develop their skills and understanding of the code, programming languages, and frameworks employed within the Athena Alliance platform.
– Define and establish development best practices and patterns.
– Continually evolve the codebase to deliver customer and business needs.
– Work closely with both the product, design and engineering teams.
– Help make technical recommendations on make vs buy decisions.

Qualifications:
– Must be fluent in English comprehension, speaking and writing.
– You are experienced at delivering web applications on modern web architectures, and have a solid understanding of things such as security best practices, session management, and API integration.
– You have demonstrated experience owning full-stack applications end-to-end.
– You have 3+ years of experience developing front-end applications in Next.js
– You have 3+ years of experience developing front-end applications in React.js
– You have 5+ years of experience building backend systems and APIs.
– You have experience integrating with third party systems via API and/or webhook integrations.
– You have a commitment to code quality and robust testing
– You have familiarity with a test automation tool and framework such as Cypress, jest, react test library, etc.
– You are a highly effective collaborator that thrives working with teams to solve complicated challenges, driving solutions.
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

– Experience with Contentful
– Experience with Salesforce
– Experience with GraphQL, Apollo GraphQL
– Experience with Vercel and AWS

Role
– This is a fully remote contractor role
– Salary range $25-45/hr based on experience
– Expected workload 30-40 hours per week
– We don’t mind what timezone you are in, as long as you are available between 9am-1pm Pacific time zone

Hourly Range: $25.00-$45.00
