We’re a team of PhDs and software engineers building a complex enterprise software application. This application supports demand forecasting for manufacturers. We also have 5 other projects ongoing and opportunity is effectively unlimited to scale & grow with our team.

We need someone who can hit the ground running, can bring expertise from relevant prior work, and can operate independently. Being able to understand & think about the business problem is key as you’ll be operating with a small/lean team. Not for people who need hand-holding or are inexperienced.

1. FastAPI backend route implementations, using SQL queries
2. Data transformation & quality checks on data transformation scripts, run with Polars
3. Can manage more junior python devs to help you in this work

Understanding of python, polars, fastapi, and postgres/sql is key. Those are the primary technologies.

Interview process is simple:
1. ~2-hour test project. Exactly the work you’d be doing with us. Real-world business problem with real-world data. Not hard — just a test of efficiency, code quality, and how well you understand the problem statement / can reason through uncertainty.
2. 30 min call with our team to review & hear more about your background, and answer any questions of yours about us (bidirectional fit is important!)

We STRONGLY believe in the statement "talent is evenly distributed but opportunity is not". We all remember as 24 yr olds not being given the time of day b/c we were young / didn’t have the resume. We are open to anyone wanting to try the test and see how you do. $ rate is driven by how capable you are — not by your experience, or your age, or anything else. Worth also noting:
1. We are a video-on shop. We care a lot about knowing who we are working with. 100% understand if you prefer to have video off when doing team calls, but that’s not going to be a fit.
2. Fluency in english is important. Doesn’t need to be perfect by any means, but if it’s a blocker for us being able to discuss / work through a problem, that’s not going to be a fit.
