We are looking for a skilled and experienced Database Architect to design and implement a robust, scalable database system for our ERP project. This is a freelance position with the potential for ongoing work as we expand our system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design and optimization, particularly for ERP systems.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement a comprehensive database schema for our ERP system, including Inventory Management, Sales, Finance and Accounts, Customer Management, and more.

Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.

Collaborate with backend developers to integrate the database with the application, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage.
Develop and implement data migration strategies from existing systems

Set up and maintain database backup and recovery processes.
Define and enforce database standards, procedures, and best practices.

Monitor and analyze database performance, implementing necessary optimizations.

Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards and other relevant regulations.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Database Architect or similar role, particularly in developing and managing ERP systems.
Strong knowledge of database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with database design tools such as MySQL Workbench, Microsoft Visio, or Lucidchart.
Experience in data modeling, normalization, and denormalization techniques.
Expertise in database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
Familiarity with database security best practices and data encryption methods.
Experience in setting up and managing backup and recovery processes.
Understanding of Indian accounting standards and compliance requirements is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
Experience with DevOps practices and tools for database deployment and management.
Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions and services.

Hourly Range: $30.00-$60.00
