We are seeking a skilled developer to create a customizable React web search page that will serve as a demonstration platform for our e-commerce search engine. The primary goal of this project is to design and implement a search page with a consistent overall structure and composition while allowing for easy customization of colors, logos, and branding elements for specific merchants.

One key requirement is that unlike conventional search engines, where each query leads to the entire results being refreshed, the search page should allow for dynamic insertion of new results as the user issues subsequent related queries. The results presented to the user after the previous query should (unless a full reload is specified by the API response) gently shift down to present additional results at the top. This is similar to the experience provided by https://www.perplexity.ai/ and https://you.com/ with "Ask a follow up question…"

Key Requirements:

Proficiency in React and front-end web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with templated markup and variable customization to facilitate easy tailoring of design elements.
Strong understanding of responsive design principles to ensure optimal display across devices.
Ability to create reusable components and stylesheets for efficient customization.
Attention to detail and a focus on creating an intuitive and visually appealing user interface.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with our team to understand the project requirements and design specifications.
Provide at least two alternative designs for the search page, showcasing different layouts, and visual styles. These designs should offer distinct options for presenting search results and interacting with the interface.
Develop a flexible and customizable template structure for the search page, incorporating variables for colors, logos, and branding elements with minimal code change (typically through a build config file)
Ensure consistency in design and layout while allowing for easy customization of visual elements.
Conduct thorough testing to verify compatibility and functionality across various devices and screen sizes.
Provide comprehensive documentation and guidance for future customization and updates.

Hourly Range: $15.00-$35.00
