We have a great new Rails 7 app, launched last year, that needs strong front-end customer-facing feature development. Part to full-time.

The app (https://erosplatform.com) is an education and community platform whose purpose is cultivating human flourishing and the true expression of self. Its key features are courses, live events, video content, forums and other community features.

The app was designed and built "The Rails Way" by a long-term Rails veteran (17 years). It is clean and fun to work on, and I’ve been told more than once it’s the most rewarding Rails app someone has been part of.

This job is for people who love what they do and want to grow through challenging, meaningful work. If you are "overemployed" or are looking for an easy ride, this is not for you.

Lastly, to be clear, this will require rigorous experience in front-end dev. Not React "front-end", but Rails front-end, meaning Hotwire, Tailwind and good old fashioned HTML. It’s probably 60/40 front-end to back-end, but significant expertise in Hotwire and Tailwind is necessary.

Requirements:
– Rails must be your primary, daily development platform, for at least 5 years. This is not for casual Rails developers.
– You must have built and managed multiple Rails apps yourself, and know the full Rails stack soup to nuts.
– You know Tailwind CSS inside and out
– You know Hotwire inside and out

Technical Requirements:
– Backend: Postgresql, Elasticsearch, Heroku
– Gems: Devise, Pundit, AASM, GoodJob, dozens of others
– Frontend: Turbo/Stimulus, Tailwind
– Testing: Strong test/spec practice (practical, not exhaustive)

Work Environment:
– We are a mission-driven group that absolutely loves what we do

– We will hold daily scrum-style meetings
– Work is remote only
– Availability over weekends for production support is not required but a bonus

Hourly Range: $25.00-$90.00
