During the Lok Sabha discussion on Election Reforms Congress MP Rahul Gandhi delivered a hard-hitting speech alleging institutional capture and serious lapses in India’s electoral process. Using the metaphor of India as a “fabric woven by votes,” Gandhi accused the BJP and RSS of undermining democratic institutions, particularly the Election Commission of India. He questioned the removal of the CJI from the ECI selection panel, immunity granted to Election Commissioners, alleged voter list irregularities, SIR flaws, destruction of CCTV footage, and lack of transparency in EVM architecture.
