Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Kyrgyzstan’s leadership and reaffirmed the deep strategic partnership between Moscow and Bishkek during his meeting with President Sadyr Japarov. Speaking ahead of the upcoming CSTO summit, Putin highlighted Russia’s plan to take over the organisation’s presidency in 2026 and commended Kyrgyzstan for its successful term. Putin outlined a broad agenda, including a major joint declaration on strengthening allied relations, new agreements on trade, energy, education, migration, and investment, and deeper cooperation across sectors such as nuclear energy, digital technologies, logistics, and transport.
