Russia’s Northern Naval Fleet conducted a special military exercise in the Barents Sea on September 5. The drill involves approximately 20 warships, along with six aircraft. Russia’s anti-submarine warship ‘Brest’ in coordination with anti-submarine aviation assets—the IL-38 aircraft and Ka-27M naval helicopter—detected and targeted a simulated enemy submarine using jet depth charges and torpedoes.
