Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said that Moscow will provide military assistance to North Korea if the country comes under attack. According to TASS, Rudenko said, “If an act of aggression is committed against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, all necessary measures will be taken in accordance with our legislation and with the DPRK’s legislation.” This comes amid fresh tensions between North Korea and South Korea. North Korea on October 14 destroyed roads leading to South Korea after accusing Seoul of sending drones over Pyongyang.
