Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a BJP rally virtually in West Bengal’s Nadia district after dense fog prevented his helicopter from landing at the Taherpur helipad. Apologising to supporters for not reaching in person, Modi launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress, accusing it of shielding illegal immigrants and opposing voter roll revisions. He alleged corruption, nepotism and appeasement under the Mamata Banerjee government, branding the state’s situation as “maha jungle raj.” Modi urged voters to support a “double-engine government” ahead of the upcoming assembly elections and condoled the deaths of BJP workers in an accident.
