Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a joint session of Ethiopia’s Parliament, calling India and Ethiopia members of one family working together for a more just, equal, and peaceful world. Highlighting the aspirations of the Global South, PM Modi said it is shaping its own destiny—not against anyone, but for everyone. He underlined the centuries-old ties between the two ancient civilizations and stressed the need to reform global decision-making systems to reflect today’s realities. During the visit, India and Ethiopia elevated ties to a Strategic Partnership, signed eight key agreements, and deepened cooperation in education, digital public infrastructure, and peacekeeping. PM Modi was also conferred Ethiopia’s highest civilian honour.
