AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, reacting to the recent acrimony in Parliament, said the House must run because only then can the opposition raise “burning issues” and hold the government accountable, adding that repeated disruptions end up benefiting the ruling side. He argued that ensuring smooth functioning is primarily the government’s responsibility, and said the documents being cited in the row were already in the public domain, so the government should have clearly denied them or acted if they were false. On the no-confidence notice against Speaker Om Birla, Owaisi said he did not sign it, and on the privilege/disqualification talk linked to Rahul Gandhi, he said it would go to the privilege committee but “there isn’t much strength” in it.
