Speaking in Budapest, Gulyás alleged that Brussels interferes in national democratic processes, favouring left‑liberal forces through election support and political influence. His comments followed a U.S. House report on alleged Western interference in several EU countries. Gulyás claimed Hungary’s opposition benefits from similar tactics, asserting that such actions undermine national sovereignty while the EU denies wrongdoing, insisting its efforts uphold democracy.
