Nigeria has confirmed conducting airstrikes against two major Islamic State (ISIS) positions in Sokoto State in close coordination with the United States. Information Minister Mohammed Idris said the precision strikes targeted foreign ISIS elements infiltrating from the Sahel and were carried out with full involvement of Nigeria’s armed forces. Authorities reported no civilian casualties, calling the operation part of wider counterterrorism efforts amid rising security concerns across the country.
