The Israeli government has come under fire for its social media rhetoric against Gazan civilians. Israeli government accounts reportedly shared a video in which a freed hostage said, “there are no innocent civilians there (Gaza)”. Israel has been accused of justifying civilian deaths by pushing such videos on social media. Over 37,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza so far, as per Hamas. Israel, however, argues not all civilians in Gaza are innocent.
