A tragic stampede at the Shitala Mata Temple in Nalanda has claimed the lives of at least eight women, while 12 others were left injured. The incident occurred due to a massive surge of devotees on the last Tuesday of the Chaitra month, leading to overcrowding and chaos at the temple. The injured were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals and later shifted to better-equipped facilities for treatment. Authorities have begun relief and rescue operations while ensuring medical assistance to those affected.
