Musketeer Chess is a game of chess, but extended version where 2 additional pieces (usually unconventional but could be also classic chess pieces) are added to the classic board. The game is always played on an 8×8 board. There are some specific tasks to do: first piece selection where white and black alternate selecting the additional piece types, once the additional pieces are selected, there is a method to tell where these additional pieces will enter the game. Globally, the pieces are dropped once one of the pieces on the 1st or last rank move for the first time. It’s important to notice that the additional pieces drop location is selected by the players before the game starts which means that the entry location is known by both players and it cannot be changed during the course of the game. take a look at www.musketeerchess.net to play some games of Musketeer Chess and understand the game mechanic.
