Robot Sea Monster is a digital production studio with an extensive background in designing and developing mobile and web games, AR/VR, Web3 blockchain, and commercial applications. Founded in 2012, the studio has successfully shipped over 40 products, serving major brands such as Blue Shield and Pearson, as well as innovators like LO3 Energy and Occipital. Opportunity

We are seeking a Unity Developer with extensive experience in Unity, integrating SDKs, making API calls, implementing UI/UX design features, logic, and network interactions in games and other applications built using C# and the Unity framework.

A strong focus will be placed on reusable code, clear structure, syntax, and attention to detail. While you will not be responsible for core architecture or design itself, you will be responsible for implementing the architecture and design in the application correctly.

As an integral member of our distributed, multidisciplinary team, you will dedicate 40 hours weekly to meeting and exceeding project expectations. You will be expected to attend daily stand-ups, coordinate with a geographically dispersed team, and complete development tasks on time and to specification. This remote position requires a mandatory 4-hour daily overlap with our core hours (9 AM to 5 PM PST) to facilitate effective communication and ongoing team integration.

Roles and Responsibilities

– Implement high-quality, interactive features for games and apps.

– Optimize and maintain performance requirements while implementing features.

– Attend team meetings, including project kick-offs, stand-ups, and additional meetings as required.

– Utilize and contribute to the company-wide code library.

Ideal Candidate

– 3-5 years experience with Unity 3D/Content Development

– Strong English written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate issues and report project design and status to a diverse non-technical audience. Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com preferred.

– Strong 3D math skills

– Strong C# object-oriented programming and scripting language skills

– Experience working with game assets (meshes, animations, materials etc)

– Experience profiling and optimizing game and render performance (GPU and CPU)

– Experience working on a physics-based game project, source control systems such as Git in a multi developer team environment.

Work Environment

Robot Sea Monster is a fully remote company with team members across the globe. We expect you to provide appropriate computer, peripherals, and software needed for this position, in addition to high-speed internet, mic, and camera required for video conferencing and voice calls. Robot Sea Monster will provide access to all team systems and any proprietary software or hardware required for a project.

You will need to be available via Google Meet, Slack, and email during designated work hours. Additional hours may be required when we need to meet project deadlines and for periodic client meetings. Hours will fluctuate based upon number of projects, project scale, and project timelines.

Hourly Range: $26.00-$35.00
