France and Germany are sounding the alarm over growing fears that the United States could push Ukraine into a peace deal that comes at Kyiv’s expense. According to a report by Der Spiegel, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned President Volodymyr Zelensky to be extremely cautious as U.S.-led peace efforts gain momentum. The concerns follow a high-level conference call after talks between American and Ukrainian negotiators in Florida, where European leaders reportedly feared Washington might accept territorial concessions without solid security guarantees for Ukraine. German leaders also hinted that Trump-linked envoys could be “playing a game” with both Europe and Kyiv.
