Hi there, we are Journal Lab, an international start-up / scale-up from The Netherlands and we are looking for a talented Medior/Senior Frontend Developer with more than 3 years of development experience with React.js and Next.js, for a project to redesign our current website while moving to a UI component library.

We are creating the best – or so we think 😉 – software in the world to create, share and order digital and printed journals, and currently have two labels in the market: Travel Diaries, for the creation of travel journals, and Baby Diaries, for the creation of baby and pregnancy books. The plan is to launch more labels in the future. You will be working closely with our development team, consisting of a backend developer, 2 frontend developers and a mobile / Flutter developer, software tester and the product owner.

Since we are also redesigning our complete application at the moment, we could use come extra hands, and that is why we decided to outsource this project, that we estimate to take around 80 hours. We are looking for someone who is available right away and can give a fulltime dedication.

You will be expected to:
– Create a theme with given theme palette and guideline
– Create a component library based on given designs
– Migrate components/containers from JavaScript to Typescript
– Enhance code quality and implement structured patterns

We need a motivated individual with the following qualities:
– At least 3 years of experience on React ecosystem and NextJS
– Strong experience on designs systems and MaterialUI
– Experience with TypeScript (must)
– Frontend framework knowledge (MaterialUI, AntDesign and Styled components)
– Responsive & Adaptive user interface development (mobile/tablet/laptop/desktop)
– Understanding of source code version control systems (Git)

You will be working closely along side our other 2 frontend developers who will help to onboard you and guide you whenever you have questions. We need this to be done and delivered in the first week of August. If the job is done successfully there are opportunity to be hired again in the future!
