WE are currently looking at Lianja but have not made the final decision, whatever product is selected becoming fluent in its use will be required.
We are a specialty meat and grocery multi-location retail and wholesale organization. This software controls day-to-day operations with QuickBooks integration for financials, PR, etc…
We have all the departments similar to any grocery store chain, with an emphasis on Beef, Chicken and Pork. We carry a full line of complimentary produce, breads, dairy, grocery, frozen foods, general merchandise, beer and wine. We have prepared foods from our kitchen and repackage bulk items for retail sale. We private label our marinated products and portion cut for wholesale distribution.
*An in depth working knowledge of our financial Line of Business Applications, Quickbooks Desktop and Enterprise on-premise
*An in depth working knowledge of our development Applications, Visual FoxPro, Commtools, Chilkat. We will be migrating to SQL at the backend so SQL experience required.
*Previous experience in retail grocery workflow would be helpful, from procurement to sale, POS, production, transaction processing, inventory, Compliance (USDA, FDA) helpful but not required.
*An understanding of operational, data, user and security management
*An understanding of Consumer off the shelf software (Adobe, MS Office)
*An understanding of networking infrastructure, servers, desktop, mobile and peripherals. The hardware side of the development, for printing receipts to payment processing. Serial and USB communications for control systems like cash drawers and scales.
We have not set a rate as it is negotiable, we have not set a timeline, for the right person this could evolve into long term employment as support and maintenance will be on going likely a minimum of 9-12 months for core migration. Like all software do not expect it will never be completed, we will make it better, faster or add new features.
We do not have any geographic constraints, but fluent English is required.
We will require meetings between 9AM and 5PM in the US Eastern Time Zone. These will be coordinated in advance although working with a disperse team issues may arise and may need immediate attention. You would be expected to respond as a key person within the development team.
You maybe in a lead team role or work as a member depending on your capabilities, the current owner is the lead developer. If you want software written for a business there is no better person than the owner as they understand their needs best.
We will likely hire more than one person, they will work as part of the team. Input on best practices, options will be encouraged and supported, there are multiple ways to write code we will work together to decide how we write the code. It will be important that someone else can follow your work. We will base our development on what exists in the currently operating system but adding or improving functionality will be rewarded. We are working under a schedule so not all suggestions can be incorporated in the first iteration; we will track and determine what and when improvements can be made.
I will respond to all qualified inquiries in 7-10 days for an online interview. Please provide rate and schedules with your response. This position will be onboard in 30 days.
