French lawmakers on the night of December 4 voted to oust the government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier. This after the National Assembly lower house approved a no-confidence motion that had been proposed by the hard left, backed by the far right headed by Marine Le Pen. The motion was passed after 331 MPs in the 577-member chamber voted to oust the government. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron insisted that he will complete his remaining term till 2027.
