Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran remains open to negotiations with the United States, provided talks are grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. Speaking at a press conference in Beirut, Araqchi stressed that while Iran prefers diplomacy, it is also prepared for war if Washington chooses confrontation. He explained that his visit to Lebanon focused on discussions about Israel’s challenges and threats to regional security, alongside strengthening bilateral relations between Tehran and Beirut. The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, underlining Iran’s dual-track approach of diplomacy backed by readiness to defend its national interests.
