Proton is an engineering and design-focused agency in the direct-to-consumer e-commerce industry with a niche focus on challenging complex projects that other agencies say aren’t possible.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend/Fullstack Developer to join our international team. You will be tasked with building internal and public Shopify apps using the Laravel PHP framework. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Laravel, Postgres, and PHP development.

Responsibilities:

– Create comprehensive documentation for implemented features, integrations, and workflows.
– Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and actively contribute to ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and updates. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and propose innovative solutions.
– Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
– Stay up-to-date with the latest back-end technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements:

– 2+ years of experience in developing complex back-end applications.
– 2+ years of experience with Laravel.
– Experience with InertiaJS.
– Expertise in PHP and Postgres.
– Experience with TypeScript, React, and the ES6 specification.
– Experience with Git with an understanding of how branching works.
– Familiar with project tracking platforms such as Jira or Asana.
– Familiar with code review processes.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
– Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
– Strong communication and collaboration skills,
– Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team.
– Must be able to work on Eastern Standard Time (NYC) for the initial onboarding and project kickoff, this may be adjusted later.

Nice to Haves:

– Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning platforms.
– Experience in eCommerce systems, particularly Shopify and Shopify Plus.
– Experience working with the TailwindCSS framework.
– Comfortable using CLI tools.
– Knowledge of GraphQL and REST APIs
– Experience with automation testing like Pest or PHPUnit.
