A day after she was not selected in India’s relay team for the Paris Games, quartermiler Jisna Mathew has requested the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) to reconsider her case. AFI did not select her for the 4×400 relay team as their long-standing policy to not select athletes who do not train in the national camps. “hellip;I would like to refer to the email from Dr P.T. Usha addressed to you dated 30 December 2023, which was also copied to the CEO TOPS, SAI and chief coach of athletics. The email emphasised my dedicated training regime and performance metrics which I believe align with the standards required for Olympics qualification,” Jisna said in her letter to AFI president Adille Sumariwalla.
