Veteran actor and politician Jaya Bachchan delivered a sharp and emotional speech in the Rajya Sabha, calling out the growing “VIP culture” in India, especially in the national capital. Highlighting the daily struggles faced by ordinary citizens, she criticised the frequent roadblocks, traffic diversions, and disruptions caused by VIP movements. Bachchan pointed out that even Members of Parliament are not spared, recounting incidents where MPs were stopped, gates were locked, and access to Parliament was restricted due to VIP convoys. She termed the situation “humiliating” and warned that such practices could eventually lead to public anger and even road rage.
