The Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad, an associate of Hamas, published a video on May 28, purporting showing an Israeli hostage in the Gaza Strip who is still alive. Israeli media revealed the captive’s identity as 28-year-old Sasha Trupanov. On October 7, Trupanov, a dual national of Russian and Israeli descent, was abducted from kibbutz Nir Oz, together with his mother, grandmother, and girlfriend.
