A major terror alert has been sounded in the national capital after intelligence inputs warned of a possible Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) plot to carry out an IED attack near the Red Fort, with a temple in the Chandni Chowk area cited as a potential target. Intelligence sources, quoted in reports, said key religious places in and around the Red Fort and parts of Chandni Chowk remain on the group’s radar and warned that prominent temples across the country could also be targeted. Security has been tightened and agencies are on heightened vigil, with the alert coming amid continuing scrutiny of past incidents in the Red Fort area, including the Nov 10, 2025 car blast case.
