India may induct its third nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) by April or May, with INS Aridhaman expected to be commissioned soon after months of sea trials. The submarine was fabricated by L&T and built at the Ship Building Centre in Visakhapatnam, and will be India Navy’s third Arihant-class SSBN, designed for stealth, endurance and deep-sea secrecy while carrying nuclear-capable submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
