At the Democratic convention in Chicago, Hillary Clinton, the first woman to secure a major US party’s presidential nomination, praised the new Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris. Clinton emphasised Harris would fight for families, job creation, and the restoration of abortion rights as President. Thousands attended the convention to support Harris, who is set to face Donald Trump in the 2024 Election. Clinton criticised Trump for being self-centered and noted his 34 felony convictions. She also commended President Joe Biden as a “champion of democracy” and expressed confidence in Harris’s leadership abilities.
