Hamas militants killed an Israeli soldier and injured three others during fierce clashes in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on August 31. The slain soldier was identified as Staff Sgt. Elkana Navon (20), a squad commander in the Bislamach Brigade’s 906th Battalion. IDF said that soldiers also killed two Hamas operatives from close range during the exchange of fire in Jenin.
