We are seeking an experienced Go developer to rewrite and integrate several Python scripts into a seamless system written in Go. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the Go programming language and experience consolidating scripts into an integrated system.

The primary objective is to simplify existing scripts written in Python, improve performance, and rewrite them in Go. The developer will work closely with our team to ensure the system functions smoothly and meets requirements. The successful candidate should be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and deliver high-quality code within deadlines.

The existing scripts are internal tools developed as proofs of concept. They retrieve data from 3rd party APIs and websites (via scraping), store it in a Postgres database, then transform the data accordingly. These scripts were quickly written in Python to prove out the concept and functionality, and now should be rewritten in Go.

While you don’t need to have a senior level understanding of Python for this gig, you should be able to understand how the scripts work to be able to re implement in Go.

You will rewrite and extend these scripts into a more production-ready system built to scale in Go. You’ll work directly with our team of 4 developers to ensure proper functionality and integration. We need this rewrite done quickly and correctly but currently lack the capacity to do it ourselves.

Hourly Range: $15.00-$30.00
