We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer to take primary responsibility for development on a large scale project.

The company owns and operates the world’s largest online stamp catalogue, and it is a reference point in the industry. The site offers a catalogue featuring all stamps ever issued around the world. On top of the catalogue, the site offers options for buying and selling stamp related items through an internal platform.

We are looking for a developer to take the main developmental responsibility for future development on the project, as our current Lead Developer will be stepping down. The Platform has been built over many years, and it is primarily written in Python, with Django being heavily used. That means that a minimum requirement is to have expert knowledge on both Python and Django. We run on the long-term supported versions of both Django and Python.

The platform relies heavily on SQL, so high level expertise in PostgreSQL is also important. And high level knowledge on optimization of both Python and SQL is required in order to succeed.

The platform uses JQuery and Bootstrap, so knowledge of these is crucial, and the system is currently run using FreeBSD, meaning that knowledge of this is also highly prefered.

The catalogue is highly complex with many variables and many requirements in relation to searchability, and you will need to have a strong grasp of complex data, and an appetite for complex work, in order to succeed.

As the platform is global, and the corporate language is English, your English skills must be exceptional – both written and spoken.

As the current Lead Developer is stepping down, there will be very limited access to technical support, so you must be adept at working out issues on your own, and finding the right solution, through the documentation,a nd through trial-and-error – and you must thrive in this setting, as it will be the setting for the foreseeable future.

The job comes with a high degree of creative freedom, where functionality and design is created in cooperation. For the right candidate, this could become a permanent position.
