Overview
Our medical office is seeking a skilled full stack developer to create a comprehensive solution to address critical issues with our front desk operations, specifically human errors that lead to significant problems. We need a robust computer system that will ensure no information is missed and errors are minimized.

Project Description
We are experiencing two main problems with our current workflow:

Missed Follow-Up Appointments: Physicians mark follow-up appointments in SOAP notes at the end of patient visits. However, our front desk staff often fails to enter these appointments into the EHR system. We need a system that can export data from Practice Fusion, verify the scheduled appointments, and alert us if any are missing. The solution must be capable of picking up data that is handwritten in the SOAP note by the doctor, using OCR technology.
Incomplete Patient Profile Information: The front desk staff frequently omits information from patient registration sheets (e.g., care team details) when updating patient profiles in the EHR. We need a system that can identify and alert us about missing information, ensuring that all provided data is entered correctly. This includes data from handwritten patient registration forms as well as any other missing information from new patient profiles.
Project Requirements
Data Export and Verification:

Create a system to export data from our Practice Fusion EHR at regular intervals.
Implement logic to compare exported data against SOAP notes and patient registration sheets.
Identify discrepancies between the recorded and expected data, particularly focusing on scheduled follow-up appointments and patient profile details.
Generate alerts for any discrepancies found, notifying relevant staff members to take corrective action.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR):

Integrate OCR technology to read handwritten notes and prompts from SOAP notes and registration sheets.
Ensure the OCR system accurately captures appointment types (e.g., echocardiogram) and patient care team details.
API Integration:

Utilize Practice Fusion’s API capabilities to facilitate data export and integration.
Ensure secure and compliant data handling in accordance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
Desired Skills and Experience
Proven experience in full stack development, including front-end and back-end technologies.
Expertise in working with EHR systems, specifically Practice Fusion, and familiarity with its API.
Proficiency in OCR technology and its integration into software solutions.
Strong understanding of healthcare data management and HIPAA compliance.
