India has responded to concerns surrounding transshipment policies with Bangladesh. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the move was taken due to port congestion and emphasised it does not impact Bangladesh’s exports to Nepal or Bhutan. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to a democratic, inclusive, and prosperous Bangladesh, adding that India seeks a constructive, forward-looking relationship with its neighbour.
