The leader of Canada’s opposition New Democratic Party (NDP), Jagmeet Singh, said he planned to quit as party leader after he conceded defeat in his own district on Monday (April 28) night. Speaking at a party event after Canada’s election results showed Singh losing his seat at Burnaby Central constituency, the NDP leader appeared emotional as he thanked his wife and the party.
