Are you passionate about leveraging technology for a meaningful cause? We’re seeking a skilled freelance app developer to join our team and help advance Only Rescues, a unique platform dedicated to matching rescue dogs and cats with their forever homes.

About Only Rescues:
Only Rescues is a central platform connecting animal shelters with potential adopters. Our platform allows shelters to upload detailed profiles of rescue pets, giving each animal its own profile for prospective adopters to explore. Adopters register and complete a short lifestyle quiz to determine their best match, then swipe through pet profiles until they find their perfect companion. Think of a dating app for rescue pets!

Responsibilities:
•Overall responsibility for the smooth running of the entirety of the Only Rescues platform including iOS / Android apps, web app, CMS, admin panel and shelter access
•Seamlessly transfer the platform from our current development partner (currently hosted on Digital Ocean)
•Collaborate with our team to implement new features and enhancements for the Only Rescues platform
•Perform bug fixes and troubleshooting to ensure a seamless user experience
•Work on both iOS and Android platforms, utilising Flutter technology
•Contribute to the improvement and ongoing development of the web app version of Only Rescues
•Contribute to the improvement and ongoing development of our CMS
•Provide ongoing support and maintenance, including hosting, to ensure the long-term success of the platform
Requirements:
•Proficiency in Flutter for cross-platform mobile app development
•Demonstrable ability to seamlessly integrate and advance development with existing codebase
•Experience with web app development
•Strong understanding of UI/UX principles to create engaging and intuitive interfaces
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment
•Excellent communication skills and a passion for making a positive impact
•Experience of using React js (shelter access) and PHP Laravel (admin access)
•Experience of third-party connections including Firebase analytics, One Signal, Twilio, Mailgun

Desirable:
•Previous experience working on projects with a charitable or social impact focus
•Familiarity with incorporating lifestyle quizzes or matchmaking algorithms into app development
•London-based
